During our trip to Singapore for the launch of little F7 Ultra we wanted to test Xiaomi 15 Ultra again (here the review), this time together with his Photography Kitwhich we remind you is available for free with the purchase only until today 31 March.
The photography kit was considerably updated Compared to that of Xiaomi 14 Ultra and we tell you here what our experience was. The first component is a Cblack over with red edges. Certainly the aesthetic aspect can have a certain impact on the choice of use of a cover and it must be admitted that this solution with red details may not be for everyone. Around the camera there is a metal ring of the same color, which however you can unscrew (by pressing a small lock button) to replace it with one of the other two supplied: the black one and that to be able to take advantage of the photographic filters.
This is the only real hardware difference that will have an impact on the photos you take. But don’t underestimate the rest.
In addition to the cover, which you may also want to use every day, then there is An additional block To slide on the lower part of the cover and connects with a USB-C connector to the smartphone. Is a grip Basically a thickness to help keep the smartphone firm grip when photographing with one hand (but not only). Like all the GRIPs of the cameras this also has one series of physical checks. We have a double -run shot button (with focus on intermediate pressure). This can be screwed to this one of the two protruding keys supplied. I am very comfortable to improve the natural recognition of the position of the finger on the shot button. There are also two small rubbers if you prefer a softer click. Unfortunately, I lost one of the two keys, having “played” as a sort of “Scacciapensieri”.
One of the novelties of this year is the presence of a point where to place the thumb naturally and improve the grip, but without touching the screen (in the video I mistakenly called it Palm rest). This component can also be removed by unscrewing its relative lives. We then have a lock button to prevent the grip from being paraded, a hole for the laccetto and another USB-C port (which will now be on the long side) for charging the grip itself and smartphone. In fact, this component also acts by 2,000 mAh powerbank Which can load the smartphone only when descending under a certain threshold, or just connected.
In addition to the shot button, we also have a zoom lever, a video recording button and a ring. All these checks are programmable on different features, as you can see from the screenshots below.
The photography kit is not a tool that will allow the smartphone to take more beautiful photos: the smartphone remains that, except for the possibility of using photographic filters.
But since the goodness of a shot is also largely thanks to the photographer, the one in which the photography Kit excels and improve controls, flexibility and above all the photographer’s convenience to express himself at best.
THE 199 € requested On the Mi.com website They are probably an excessive expense for the common user, whose objective advantage would be limited, but if you are buying an Xiaomi 15 ultra also and above all for its photographic skills and want it to replace a camera during a holiday it is difficult not to recommend this further expense.
